Digital Hearing Assessment

The fourth industrial revolution has seen the rapid digitalization of health care. Digital hearing assessment including screening and diagnosis has expanded reach and access to these services through connected technologies including smartphones as point of care diagnostics and online assessments. This project aims to explore, develop, and validate digital hearing assessment approaches and the service-delivery models they enable. Digital technologies include screening and assessment like pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, video-otoscopy, in-situ audiometry using platforms including using smartphone- applications and online testing. Potential areas of application include clinical, community-based, consumer and retail settings.

This project touches on the research themes 2 (digital hearing solitons), 4 (new service delivery models) and theme 5 (synthesis of evidence). Following are the specific studies within this larger project.

Further details about the specific projects will be available soon.
